- El programa Case Study House (1945-1966) fue un verdadero hito en la historia de la arquitectura de Estados Unidos. Patrocinado por la revista Arts & Architecture, surgió como respuesta al boom inmobiliario de la posguerra, y su objetivo era poner al alcance del ciudadano medio estadounidense prototipos de viviendas modernas que fueran económicas y fáciles de construir. Localizado en la zona de Los Ángeles, incluía 36 prototipos encargados a los arquitectos más prestigiosos de la época, como Richard Neutra, Raphael Soriano, Craig Ellwood, Charles y Ray Eames, Pierre Koenig, Eero Saarinen, A. Quincy Jones y Ralph Rapson. Uno de sus criterios era emplear siempre que fuera posible “técnicas y materiales creados durante la guerra que mejor se adaptaran a la vida del hombre en el mundo moderno”.
