What makes these rocks different from the ceramic rocks biorb says we should use? I find the ceramic rocks get in the filter either way.
répondre: The ceramic rocks are not smooth. They are meant to have an extreme amount of surface area on which bacteria can grow. The water flows through them into the filter and then tube so the bacteria is throughout the tank. The rocks in this listing have little surface area. The instructions for the ceramic rocks say to rinse them before use and take out any smaller than the size of a pea. It is only those that could get into the filter. The intake spaces in the filter are not big enough to allow anything larger to get in. -
