Fantasy Editorial Review
**** "Future Friend," a whimsical and humorous children's book penned by bestseller David Baddiel, has garnered a warm reception from young readers and their caregivers alike. Launched on May 13, 2021, this illustrated narrative captivates its audience through a blend of futuristic imagination and relatable character experiences. The story follows Pip, a girl from the year 3020, who navigates a world profoundly altered by pollution and technology. Her adventures begin when she unexpectedly travels back to 2019 after winding up in a "portal to the stadium above the clouds." Here, she not only encounters a new friend, Rahul, but also grapples with the challenges of her unusual predicament. This captivating plot keeps children engaged while cleverly introducing themes surrounding environmental issues and friendship. Parents appreciate the book’s high-quality illustrations and storytelling, making it an appealing choice for gifts. Notably, many reviews highlight that kids aged 8 to 10 resonate well with the humor and wit typical of Baddiel’s writing. Readers expressed delight in the compelling narrative and recommend this book as a perfect introduction to the author’s broader collection. Overall, "Future Friend" offers both a thrilling journey and essential life lessons, making it a beloved addition to children's literature. **
